The Bohr model of the atom is intended to present effects within the atom more clearly. It is one of the classical models of the atom, as opposed to quantum physics models. Physicist Niels Bohr assumed that electrons moved around the nucleus of the atom in circular orbits (shells).
An animation illustrating the Bohr model of the atom using the term scheme of hydrogen is available. The Lyman, Balmer, Paschen and Brackett series are shown.
Apart from the animation with explanatory text, instructions for the use of the animation and a work sheet for use by students in the classroom can be provided. Tasks and solutions are also available.
